Pádraig O Concubhair is a native of the Shannonside village of Ballylongford, Co. Kerry. He was an honours graduate of St. Patricks College, Drumcondra and he began his teaching career in Scoil Eanna, Ballymackney, Co. Monaghan before moving to Lenamore, Co Kerry until his retirement as principal in 2008. He is a member of the Clogher Historical Society, former President and current Vice-President of the Kerry Historical and Archaeological Society and has been interviewed many times on radio in this capacity.
