He has unique insights into the Chen-style (Chen Shihe) Liaozhai stories and storytelling on Beijing-Tianjin customs and folklore, as well as storytelling from the Republican era. For many years he has persistently performed storytelling at teahouses and other venues in Tianjin, committed to promoting the traditional art of storytelling. His works include The Number One Knight-Errant of the Great Qing, Secrets of the Qing Palace - The Empress Dowager Cixi Story, Big Trouble in Shanghai, A Strange Case in the Pear Garden - Gun Ji Liu Hanchen, Bloodshed in the Buddhist Temple, and 14 other storytelling works.
