For many years he has persistently performed storytelling at teahouses and other venues in Tianjin, committed to promoting the traditional art of storytelling. His works include The Number One Knight-Errant of the Great Qing, Secrets of the Qing Palace - The Empress Dowager Cixi Story, Big Trouble in Shanghai, A Strange Case in the Pear Garden - Gun Ji Liu Hanchen, Bloodshed in the Buddhist Temple, and 14 other storytelling works.
